Our Story

Dedicated to the Veterans of the United States and the Families Who Support Them

I grew up in a home where I was taught that character is what we truly are; reputation is merely what people think we are.

As the watchmen and women of the world, we must uphold the highest character and continue to help our fellow veterans, their families, and our communities. In the military, we follow general orders. General Order #5 states: “Quit my post only when I am properly relieved.”

In a way, leaving active duty is a form of being relieved from our post. But while we may transition physically from service to civilian life, the mental and emotional transition requires us to take on new obligations—as citizens of the United States. Now that we are home, our battles are different. Our enemies are depression, suicide, hunger, homelessness, anger, addiction, and financial instability.

The Foundation for Veterans Helping Veterans and Their Communities New York State, along with many other veteran organizations, is committed to pooling resources to support all veterans, their families, and their communities.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all who serve this great nation.
